“A legacy of faith doesn’t happen by accident and CHLC is a proven steward of Biblical Truth. Over years of faithful shepherding and serving, they have learned how to wield the sword of the Spirit. Some things are caught and not only taught.

“In youth ministry entertainment abounds, and Biblical discipleship is more difficult to find. CHLC comes alongside parents to sow Biblical Truth and to inspire a life of discipline and excellence. They elevate relationships by instilling the preciousness of others through practices such as time away from technology, etiquette, and wholesome interactions between ladies and gents at a gala. Christ followers with character and humility lead by example and raise the standard of a faith filled life of purpose. Students are equipped to think critically, discover Truth, and live Biblical Truth out in a way that impacts themselves and others. The encouragement for practices like daily Bible reading and Scripture memory are foundational to a growing walk with God.

“In 2022, the Lord enabled me to join FEED’s Christian Highschool Leadership Council (CHLC), a unique leadership initiative for high school students. It is highly probable that there is not another organization like CHLC in the entire United States of America. It provides intense Bible, worldview, and apologetics training, and couples all of it with a Student Council body setting and numerous opportunities for community service.

“The program and curriculum was personally designed with the goal of instilling in students a love of Christ, Truth, and Scripture and a deep understanding of servant-leadership. I entered the class unsure of myself, with frail faith and weak spiritual roots. Looking back, it becomes evident to me that any devastating experience or insidious new packaging of an old lie could have swept me away from the Truth if I had been left to myself at that time. In God’s grace, He provided for me stability, accountability, and continual reminders of Truth through CHLC’s mentorship. Doubts became a training ground for asking hard questions in faith. Trials became workouts designed to strengthen my trust in God. I began to realize what it meant to love God with every fiber of my being and my neighbor as myself.

“I am now in much less danger of being led astray by false ‘new’ doctrines because my once-weak spiritual roots are continually being nourished by the Word of God and the fellowship of the believers. I have never seen love and leadership exemplified in the manner that the Bullard family did through CHLC. “I joined CHLC the inaugural year, and from the start, Ms. Brooke had a plan for training students to both understand the world we live in and actively engage in our culture as born again Christians. “Some friends in our church community group took part in CHLC at its inception, and highly recommended it for our daughter. She was so blessed to be a member her junior and senior years. On a number of occasions, she expressed her thankfulness to have a safe place to express her beliefs and grow in relationship with other believers and in her knowledge of the Lord and not only gain a better understanding of our culture but the ability to respond to it in love. In a world where living out your faith is truly the narrow road, CHLC has been such an encouragement to her and has helped her stay the course. With excellent resources from Summit and other resources added, as well as guest speakers, each session is a rich experience with God-glorifying conversations. Great leadership and service opportunities are available as well, and the White Glove Gala is our family’s favorite. Parents and students come together to set up and take down this classy, God-honoring dance. It is a favorite dance among many of our friends, and tickets sell out within hours.

It has been a treasure getting to know Brooke and Seth Bullard personally. They have such love and passion for the Lord and the future of this generation and pour their prayers and hearts into CHLC and ‘their’ kids. Having an opportunity to work alongside them and the kids during some of the service opportunities, I’ve witnessed their hearts of service and love not only for the CHLC students but also the community. They set a high standard of conduct for the students in CHLC, but they also lead by example and live out the same standards themselves.

“A few years ago I joined Christian High-school Leadership Council. I thought that it would just be another class. I thought that I would just be taught, but instead, I was discipled. Over the span of three years, we would read over the Understanding the Culture/Faith/Times books by Jeff Myers, memorize multiple verses a week, glean wisdom from the book of Proverbs, host a Winter Gala (where we brought back the expectation of honor and etiquette), host a track and field day for children with incarcerated parents, and most importantly, we were encouraged to be in God’s Word DAILY. Though I had read God’s Word and gone to church my entire life, I hadn’t made a habit of dwelling in His Word. From religion to relationship, meditating and memorizing His Word became my treasure and my greatest desire. Through the service opportunities, I learned that true leaders are servants, true leadership is service, and to lead, you must first serve. Building my life’s foundation on the Truth, and filling my spirit with His Word gave me something to give to others through service. Christ lived a life of service and obedience and gave it up for us. Then He rose, and through that He gave us hope, and a reason to live and serve others. CHLC changed my life. It made me realize the simple fact that my life is not about me, it’s all about Christ. Since we live in a time when the things of the world that we thought were sure/stable are passing away, it is important to have a firm foundation built on the only one who will never change, Christ and His Word. We can live a life of hope and purpose with our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, no matter what changes around us. The best part about CHLC is that you are learning all of this with friends who desire to know and serve God too (like iron sharpens iron). Having fellowship with the CHLC students has been such a gift! If a cord of three strands is not easily broken, how much more a group of students whose desire is to glorify Christ by serving others. “CHLC has played an integral part in our children’s education. It provided opportunities to increase their vital knowledge of the dominating worldviews in light of Scripture and Biblical theology.
